Cleveland Avenue is a residential street, an area of natural beauty, a home for many native animals and birds. It is also home for the River Red Gum, as shown above, many of which are over 400 years old.

Our natural environment is important to us all.  This site is dedicated to the native animals, birds, trees, bushes and flora of Cleveland Avenue and its locality in Lower Plenty, Victoria, Australia.

The site aims to inform, educate and inspire interest in this special part of the globe and an unusual place to live. It is in the City of Banyule, part of the greater city of Melbourne in the south-east of Australia. This area is best described as “The countryside in the city, and the city in the countryside”.

This site has been created and is maintained by a group of interested residents and we welcome your comments and contributions. The site will be developed over time from its start in April 2006.
